Hammers, nails, wood...OH MY! Step in to our Tinkering Garage workshop and help our staff make this experience great. Tinkering Garage is an interactive museum space where guests can come in as a family, gather raw materials & have access to basic tools to then design, build, make, tinker, and/or craft items. Tasks of a Tinkering Garage Assistant include, but are not limited to, filling empty bins with materials, helping guests build their creations, restocking the material stations, cleaning up tables, vacuuming, cleaning and restocking goggles.
We ask for volunteers that enjoy being creative, resourceful, tactful, flexible, comfortable around tools, and enjoy working with people and interacting with guests of all ages. This is a loud exhibit, so we ask for volunteers who are comfortable with loud noises such as hammering.
Dress code: close-toed shoes are required, comfortable clothing, and bring your own reusable water bottle / snack!
Please check in at the Security Desk in the lobby when you arrive. If it is your first time volunteering in Tinkering Garage, ask for Lindsey, and she will meet you at the security desk.
