Want to create your own activity for Adventure Science Center?
At Adventure Science Center, we love when volunteers bring their curiosity, creativity, and ideas to the table. Many of our most engaging activities have grown out of volunteer interest, and we want to make it easy for you to share ideas of your own.
This page outlines how volunteers can propose new activities for us to run on the museum floor or as part of special programs. You do not need to be an expert to submit an idea. If you have a concept you are excited about, we are happy to work with you to explore, refine, and develop it together.
Below, you will find the steps for submitting a proposal and what to expect throughout the process.
Steps
1) Notify the Volunteer Coordinator of interest in developing an activity through the interest form.
Activity Proposal Interest Form
2) The Volunteer Coordinator will provide the Activity Proposal Guidelines and provide feedback/direction as the volunteer writes their proposal.
3) When the volunteer and Volunteer Coordinator are satisfied with the proposal, it will be submitted to the Informal Engagement Manager and the Exhibits Program Manager for approval.
4) Collectively, a decision will be made about whether the activity requires a committee, and of what size, in order to test and develop the activity through its final stages.
