Volunteer: New Volunteer Orientation (ages 18+)

Do you want to become an Adventure Science Center volunteer?  If you are under 18 years of age, sign up here!

Volunteers are an integral part of the Adventure Science Center team! They are a dedicated group of individuals who serve a vital role in helping us achieve our mission to open every mind to the wonders of science and technology, fostering an understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Volunteers have the opportunity to get involved with Adventure Science Center through a variety of volunteer shifts and assignments. From ushering planetarium shows to facilitating activities at events, there is a place for everyone!

Please note: Adventure Science Center does not offer court-ordered community service as a volunteer opportunity.

Requirements: Complete a background check (for ages 18+) Attend a volunteer orientation and additional training courses for your position, as needed Benefits: 10% discount in ASC gift shop Free individual or family membership after 100 hours (including access to the ASTC passport) Participation in the volunteer recognition program Exclusive invitations to volunteer events and exhibit previews Adventure Science Center is a certified organization with the President's Volunteer Service Award. To attend orientation, you must complete all qualifications including a signed waiver and a completed background check. Background checks are free and paid for by ASC. The Sterling background check is mandatory to volunteer at Adventure Science Center. Once you begin the background check, do not close-out or go back. If the site gives you any trouble, please contact us so we can get it solved for you.

Volunteer: Touch-A-Truck

Our wildly-popular, annual Touch a Truck event returns! Children (and adults!) will have a chance to see and touch heavy machinery utilized in the construction industry and speak with the people who operate them. We will have a variety of equipment on display and host floor cart activities promoting engineering. This special day is sure to be a ton of fun.

Volunteers will be assigned to machinery and asked to assist the visitors at the equipment i.e. making sure everyone is engaging with the machinery in a safe manner. Volunteers may also be asked to take photos of families in front of the equipment.

This volunteer opportunity counts as a Specialty Day for CR3W volunteers!

Program: Open Opportunities

Our wildly-popular, annual Touch a Truck event returns!
